Two nearly-forgotten comedy apparitions, David Spade and Chris Rock, are teaming up for a movie about three families who fight over the same camping spot in a public park during a weekend retreat. Variety says Spade is planning to write the script with Fred Wolf, while Rock screams race-based one liners into his ear.
After striking gold with Joe Dirt and Dickie Roberts, it looks like nothing can stop this writing duo – from making another lame movie. The fact of the matter is that these guys are past their prime and unless they have grown as comics and actors, chances are that nothing good can come from this group. Rock, especially, has been lost in obscurity after 2005’s The Longest Yard, but he has several projects in the works including the upcoming I Think I Love My Wife (which is actually a remake of Eric Rohmer’s Chloe in the Afternoon).
The project is currently untitled, but itis being produced by Adam Sandler’s production company Happy Madison, and will fly under the Columbia banner.
