Brad Pitt and George Clooney are doing a Coen brothers movie together. The film is Burn After Reading, and Variety says it’s a black comedy about a CIA agent who loses a computer disc containing the book he’s writing. Coen brothers favorite Frances McDormand is also in the film.

The standard movie writer stance is supposed to involve a lot of obsequious behavior, but after sitting through a movie in which they dressed Tom Hanks up like Colonel Sanders and had him plan a heist with a Wayans brother forgive me if I’m not tripping over myself to see the next thing from Joel and Ethan Coen. What have you done for me lately Coens? Not much. Not much at all.

It might however be interesting to see Brad Pitt doing dark comedy. Again though, if this dark comedy is anything like Joel and Ethan’s last couple of dark comedies, it’s probably not going to be very funny or very dark.

Brad and George can of course be seen stealing things together in yet another Ocean’s movie. Watch for that, or don’t if you saw Ocean’s Twelve.
