The worst hasn’t happened. The first trailer for I Am Legend has arrived and from the little bit they show us they haven’t turned the film’s beautiful and lonely script into a movie about a guy and his merry band of zombie killers. At least from the little bit they show us in this. Actually, the trailer doesn’t really tell you a lot. From it, you know Will Smith is in it, and his family is probably dead. That’s about all.

It’s light on details, but the first trailer for I Am Legend is at least promising. Will this be big-Willied up the way I, Robot was, to become another empty, big-budget blockbuster or are we in for something better and heavier? To soon to tell.
