Tim Allen Can't Get An Audience But He Has Six Wives Just when you think Tim Allen has lost everyone’s interest, it turns out the guy has six wives. No, not in real life, but in his next movie – an independent comedy that shows more promise than a lot of the Mickey Mouse movies Allen has starred in recently.

In The Six Wives of Henry Lefay Allen will play a salesman who disappears on a skydiving expedition. Presumed dead, his daughter (played by Elisha Cuthbert) returns home to help with funeral arrangements only to find that the salesman’s current wife and five previous wives are already fighting over who will bury him.

While Six Wives sounds more promising than, oh, say The Shaggy Dog was, it still doesn’t sound too fantastic. Cuthbert’s career has hit a low water mark with Captivity and she needs a real job to show she is more than just a pretty face. The film, as described by Variety, sounds more like it’s Cuthbert’s picture than Allen’s, which could be strike one against the picture, although the “presumed dead” part makes it pretty clear he returns somehow.

The movie also features Paz Vega, Andie MacDowell (strike two), Kelli Garner, and S. Epatha Merkeson also star in the picture which is written and directed by Howard Gould, whose previous writing experience includes Mr. 3000, Shrek the Third, and a stint with Allen on “Home Improvement.” I wonder if that was during the funny years? The Six Wives of Henrey Lefay will be Gould’s directorial debut.
