With “The Sopranos” concluded, it’s time for someone else to take over the mantle of problems balancing family with famiglia. Apparently that someone is Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming film We Own The Night. The movie stars Phoenix as a person of questionable means who also happens to be the son of the police chief (Robert Duvall), and brother to another cop, played by Mark Wahlberg.

The initial description didn’t impress me very much; so much so that I confused the movie with Phoenix’s other upcoming film, Reservation Road, which is kind of understandable. With all the other revenge flicks coming out this year, what’s one more? But this isn’t that movie, and by the look of the trailer, this one has some promise.
