Let me make something clear right out of the gate: I don’t believe this for a second. This story comes from Bang Media, a celebrity news syndicator with an extremely spotty track record.
With that disclaimer out of the way, it is now my responsibility to tell you that Bang Media claims Christian Bale will play Dr. Strange, in the recently announced Marvel comic adaptation of the same name. Their source tells them a deal could be made within weeks, locking Bale up for the part.
Though Dr. Strange is a superhero property and in the comics he has in fact interacted with Batman, he couldn’t possibly be more different than the Dark Knight. Batman is a detective, rooted in the world of logic, reality, and cold, hard reason. Dr. Strange is quite literally a sorcerer. The closest Bale has come to playing a similar character was in Chris Nolan’s pre-Dark Knight movie The Prestige, where Bale plays mysterious magician Alfred Borden.
If this did happen, you’d have to wonder what this might mean for a Dark Knight sequel. Christopher Nolan is wandering around in a daze unsure if he wants to do another and now we have Christian Bale cheating on Batman to play some other superhero. All is not right in the world. Cut the crap guys, we need Batman 3 right now!

Fuck it! bale would be perfect as Dr Strange, that would be great casting. lets face it Nolan will probably not do another Batman film as he seems to have the 3rd film jitters and if he does not do it neither will bale.
lets just move on and let him do Strange, i'm bored with the Bat anyway, those films will just go down hill from here anyway if Nolan jumps ship. same thing happend the first time round with the Bat films and the X-men franchise.

Ive said this time and time again, and now its seems even more relevant, if the goal is to create a film Universe for superheroes, something the new Batman franchise has done very well, then we have to keep things fresh, realistic and consistent. What Im trying to say here is that I dont WANT to see Bale playing Strange. Christian Bale, in the realm of superheroes, is Batman, is Bruce Wayne. I think theres plenty enough talent in Hollywood to find someone else to play Dr. Strange without caniballizing the superhero realm of actors.
Case in point? Halli Berry. Shes Storm, not Catwoman, and she should have realized this before signing on to such a crappy movie.
For Strange how about someone like a Chris Eccleston, or a Ralph Fiennes?

I'm thinking Rupert Everet. I would say Johnny Depp, but Doctor Strange doesn't need any of Depp's excess add-lib weirding up. Liam Neisen might be getting a bit old, but I could see him as Strange too. I like the Ralph Fiennes idea.
I am not necessarily opposed to Bale playing Strange, but he's about to be so overexposed and I might just be sick of him. You know, after seeing Batman 3 times.

I agree with Kris. Christian Bale is Batman. He is Bruce Wayne. I think it doesn't wise play two superhero icon. Find another male actor....!!
