The Wedding could easily have wound up one of those promising-sounding indie comedies that gets dumped with some tiny studio and you never hear from again. But now the romance, which stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale) and Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies), has found a guardian angel of an executive producer: Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman.
Reitman and his producing partner Daniel Dubiecki has signed on to the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Eisenberg stars as a man who crashes the wedding of an older woman (Friel) who he's in love with. Kinda like the affair part of The Graduate mixed with the wedding-crashing scene at the end?
No studio has picked up the project yet, but that seems a lot more likely to happen with Reitman on board. The two stars are so adorable individually, it's hard to imagine anyone not wanting to scoop them up and hug them and take them home. Or, y'know, distribute their movie. Or both!
