The British singer was found guilty in December of falsely imprisoning a Norwegian male escort by handcuffing him to a wall and has been sentenced to 15 months in jail, reports CNN.
George O'Dowd, 47, denied the charge and claimed he lawfully detained Audun Carlsen for stealing photos from his laptop.
A jury unanimously found the pop star and DJ guilty of the charge last month after a seven-day trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court in northeast London.
Carlsen had also said the singer beat him with a metal chain.
O'Dowd is no stranger to the law. In August 2006, he spent five days cleaning the streets of Manhattan as part of a community service sentence for falsely reporting a break-in at his New York City home.
