Disney has two big-budget, highly anticipated animated movies coming out this winter, and the two of them could not be more different. A Christmas Carol is a motion-capture animated, 3D take on the classic Dickens tale, which features Jim Carrey in approximately 80 roles (that number may or may not be inflated). The Princess and the Frog, on the other hand, hearkens back to Disney's classic hand-drawn animation, telling a very traditional princess tale that also happens to star the studio's first black princess.
But through the weird trickery of concept art, the two movies look awfully similar in the new images unearthed by Collider. The Christmas Carol image is hand-painted and really lovely, though probably nothing like what the final product will be. And the Princess and the Frog image is sparkly and practically heaven-sent-- it's an image that can be replicated in the movie, but who knows how it will actually turn out.
Anyway, you can see smaller versions of both Collider images below. The movies come out in November and December, and surely before too long we'll have actual images from the movies to parse through.
