All we've known so far about Woody Allen's next film, Whatever Works, is that it's a highly unlikely romance between cranky Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David and The Wrestler's Evan Rachel Wood. And now, even though it's been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for distribution this summer, they're still staying mum on exactly what the whole thing is about.
The studio announced the acquisition in a press release, and provided no plot details about the movie, instead emphasizing that it's Allen's first film set in New York since 2004. Sony Pictures Classics distributed Allen's Sweet and Lowdown in 199, which earned two Oscar nominations; maybe they're hoping for the same luck again.
The studio also released the following statement: "We are so pleased to be together again with him and his producer Letty Aronson. Whatever Works is a very funny movie and it is great to see the guy back in New York. It is our privilege and pleasure to present his new film to the American public."
