I spent a few weeks recently seemingly doing nothing but reporting on casting news about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, an adaptation of the currently running comic book that'll be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). Brandon Routh was one of those many names announced, and he's already revealing some details about his latest comic book adaptation.
Collider got the interview, in which Routh said that, while Pilgrim will have real actors, it won't be entirely live-action. He also mentioned that the script goes through the end of the comic series, which is interesting, given that the series isn't even completed yet. Those lucky Hollywood types! I bet they got to read the seventh Harry Potter book before the rest of us, too.
You can check out their video interview to get the full set of details. I'd be getting a Space Jam vibe from the mix of animation and live-action, except that Edgar Wright is doing it, and he does a better job genre comedies than just about anyone. He can take as many risks as he needs in my book.
