Curtis Hanson has had a completely unpredictable career as a director, from the clever thriller L.A. Confidential to the mopey, critically slaughtered romance Lucky You. But thus far he hasn't gone much into the action genre, and he's looking to fix that by taking on a Jerry Bruckheimer action thriller.
Yes, the director of Wonder Boys will be collaborating with Jerry Bruckheimer on Gemini Man, a drama about an NSA agent set to be assassinated by a cloned version of himself. Whoah. Variety reports that David Benioff (The Kite Runner, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is working on the screenplay, wrapping things up after the story has spent a decade in development.
