There have been a lot of names, both people and titles, tossed around for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood project. First it was called Nottingham, now it's Robin Hood; originally Sienna Miller was cast as Maid Marian, and now Cate Blanchett is stepping into the role. Here's hoping this is finally the end of all these revolving door changes.
Variety reported that Blanchett had taken the role, noting that the production will finally get started in April. Russell Crowe is still expected to star as Robin Hood, while the added element of his also playing the Sheriff of Nottingham. Scott seems to have no real desire to clear things up for us, so it might be until Blanchett and Crowe are doing publicity tours before we find out what the hell is going on. But still, Blanchett and Crowe make such a good match, we should probably be willing to put up with it anyway.
