I have no idea why every crime story these days seems to be taking place in Boston, be it the Departed factor or the fact that every book by Dennis Lehane is getting turned into a movie. And while Prisoners isn't based on a Lehane novel, it's going to star Mark Wahlberg, and that means the thick Boston acccents are just around the corner.

According to Variety Wahlberg will play a Boston man who seeks justice after his daughter and her best friend are kidnapped. The screenplay is an original deal by newbie Aaron Guzikowski, but again, he's definitely cashing in on that whole Boston crime drama thing. Really, who can blame him? It's a big city with plenty of stories, and once you've got Mark Wahlberg involved, all that pahk the cahr in Hahvahd Yahd stuff just writes itself.
