Of all the pairings possible among the most famous people in Hollywood right now, Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman are one I never saw coming. The chiseled golden god and the pixie princess will be paired up in the upcoming romantic comedy Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Dooland and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry.
Yes, children, that is a mouthful, and a title that will almost definitely be changed before the movie starts rolling. Variety reports that Paramount won the rights to the just-published book, and Pitt and Portman's respective production companies Plan B and Handsomecharlie will help produce.
The book really doesn't sound like one that could be turned into a movie, though I guess with Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman on board you can't really resist. It's structured like a Sotheby's estate auction catalog, listing each of the items that formerly belonged to the couple: photographer Harold Morris and his much-younger ladyfriend, food critic Lenore Doolan.
It's pretty thrilling to think of what Pitt and Portman might be like onscreen together, especially in what sounds like an unusually clever romantic comedy. I'll look forward to it.
