Mel Gibson's 28-year marriage appears to be over -- his wife, Robyn, has filed for divorce.
The legal documents, obtained by TMZ.com, were filed in Los Angeles on Monday. The actor's wife has cited "irreconcilable differences" for the split.
The Gibsons wed in 1980 and have seven children.
In the legal papers, Robyn is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple's youngest son, Tom -- their only minor child. She is also asking for spousal support and attorneys fees.
The couple reportedly has no pre-nuptial agreement.
