The only thing Tarantino’s better at than making movies, is talking up other future movies which he’s probably going to never make. Inglourious Basterds hasn’t even been released yet but he’s already talking about a prequel. In fact, he already has a Basterds prequel script partially written.

In an interview with the New York Times QT had this to say: “I have a half-written prequel ready to go if this movie’s a smash.” Clever marketing ploy to get fanboys lined up for his movie, or is this something that’s actually on paper somewhere? I’m betting the latter and choosing as a medium yellow sticky notes stuck to the underside of a table in QT’s breakfast nook.

His ideas for more Basterd mayhem don’t end with a prequel either. He also has ideas for a sequel. Says Tarantino, “Once the Basterds get through with Europe, they could go to the South and do it to the Kluxers in the ’50s. That’s another story you could tell.” The “Kluxers” in question would be the KKK who let’s face it, definitely have it coming.
