British TV talent-show phenomenon Susan Boyle's global popularity failed to sweep her to victory on Britain's Got Talent -- she finishedd second to a 10-strong dance troupe in the finale on Saturday.
The Scot soared to international stardom after wowing judges and viewers with her amazing singing talents in her first audition on the program, going on to become an Internet hit with more than 100 million viewers watching her performance on YouTube.
But despite giving another outstanding rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables in the show's final, Boyle still couldn't pull in enough votes to take home the crown.
Dance group Diversity from Essex, southern England, were named as the winners, taking home the $150,000 prize and the chance to perform for Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show in London in December.
Boyle was a gracious loser, telling the dancers: "The best people won. I wish you all the best."
But it seems the singer's career is just starting -- she has reportedly landed a record deal with Simon Cowell's label and is expected to rake in $12 million in the next year, according to Britain's News of the World newspaper.
