There is No Such Thing as "Reincarnation"

O YOU BELIEVE in reincarnation? Reincarnation is one of the doctrines, which is being propagated and upheld by other religions that came from different countries, like Buddhism and Hinduism. One of those who taught this doctrine was Chris Butler, a spiritual leader, who is better known as Jagad Guru. At present, this doctrine is adhered to by people who consider themselves as intellectuals. And because of over self-confidence, they have forgotten to listen to the teachings of God. The same thing is true with those who are ignorant about the Holy Scriptures.

The concept of reincarnation involves rebirth, transmigration of the soul, and metempsychosis, or the transfer of a soul to different beings. It could be to a human, to an animal, or to a plant. Those who adhere to reincarnation claim that the soul of a man has no beginning and no end. And a soul develops a human form only through fusion of the 4 elements – earth, fire, water, and wind. And from there, it will transfer to different life forms when the person dies. It is also believed that this next life form will depend on his karma, or the result of his deeds in his previous life. Thereby, if a person lived a virtuous, peaceful, and orderly life, he will merit a good karma (as a reward). And in his next life, he will experience abundance, and he will be placed to a much better condition. They say, he will live comfortably when his soul transfers to another body. On the other hand, those who lived in wickedness will be accorded a bad karma as a compensation for the sins that he had committed. He will have a miserable condition in his next body. There is also a possibility that a man, whose ways are beast-like, he will become a beast in his next life.

They say that a person’s attachment to the material world and to the different earthly pleasures is one of the reasons behind reincarnation. For example, a person who is fond of surfing, scuba diving, and other water sports, is bound to become a fish, or any water creature, when he reincarnates. And this process, they say, will go on until a soul has completed going through 8,400,000 kinds of existence. This is highly impossible because if we are to respect the field of science that deals with the study of living organisms, there no such thing as 8,400,000 species.

There are also those who claim that, a soul will continue migrating to different life forms until the expiration of the earth. And they believe that the world expires every 5,000 years. They say that after 5,000 years a new world will appear, and everything that had happened will transpire once more. And this is a big lie!

Do you know that at present, there are structures of earth whose age is about 7,000 years old? This was discovered by an archeologist in Kercado, a place near Carnac, Brittany in western France. Based on the latest manner of carbon dating, the tomb that they found in Kercado was approximately built about 4,650 years after Christ was born. Therefore, today, 1999, these structures would age about 6,649 years old. And this has exceeded the 5,000-year mark, which they say, is the expiration of the earth.

And one more thing, are you aware that scientists had unearthed remains of a woman who lived about 200,000 years ago? This was published in Newsweek magazine in1988. If it is true that the earth expires every 5,000 years, then no fossils of this sort could have been found. The same with the remains in Kercado. This only leads to a definite conclusion that, this belief is not true! And never will it become acceptable to a sensible man who considers archeological facts.

All of these complicated beliefs about reincarnation result out of the people’s ignorance of what actually happens to a person after death. If we are going to use the Bible as our basis, we will find out that, the belief in reincarnation is wrong. According to the Bible, the death of a person means that everything about him also ends, and he will only have to wait for God’s judgment come Judgment Day. This is what Hebrew 9:27 states—

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die; but after this the judgment.”

Please, take not of that. Man is appointed to die but once, not 8,400,000 times. It is not true that a soul may migrate, or transfer, to another being. The Bible said, a person who has passed away no longer knows anything anymore. This is written in Job 7:9-10—

“As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him anymore.”

It is true that the Bible teaches us a particular rebirth, but this does not refer to reincarnation, because reincarnation literally means, being reborn in the flesh. What the Bible is referring to is, being born again of water and of spirit. This is what John 3:3-5 says—

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

This is a spiritual rebirth, and this refers to baptism. According to Titus 3:5—

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”

The Bible calls it “the washing of regeneration.” Acts 22:16 says—

“And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”

Therefore, being born again, or being reborn, means to undergo baptism and to lead a new and better life.

It is also impossible that a soul of a person simply transfers from one being to another. If it is true, there wouldn’t be any way for the souls to increase in number. Originally, there was but a single soul that God created. This can be read in I Corinthians 15:45—

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”

From one man, the souls, or the men, have multiplied in number. If reincarnation is true, then, the number of souls should not have increased. But it is the opposite of what is true today. Do you know that at present, there are about five billion, seven hundred million (5.7 B) people living on earth? And if the world population projection will come to pass, by the year 2000, the world’s population would be about 6.2 billion, and it will continue to grow bigger.

If you believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Teacher who was sent by God from heaven, we must never believe in reincarnation because our Lord Jesus Christ did not teach this doctrine to the Apostles. Reincarnation is not true, and this is against the teachings in the Gospel. But nevertheless, we leave everything to your judgment.

It is not intelligent that you dismiss a believe base in faith arguing with the bible, which is another believe base in faith that can not be prove neither...both ways of thinking are valid...so you can not say reincarnation is a lie because it is as possible as the eternal life you believe in base on the bible...toleration and respect for others believes is the key for peace and growing as a person...

How can you say that it can not be proven? it is stated in the bible that the death of a person means that everything about him also ends, and he will only have to wait for God’s judgment come Judgment Day. This is what Hebrew 9:27 states—

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die; but after this the judgment.”

Both ways can not be both true.. if thats so it will be contradicting. other will say Reincarnation is true and the other will say it is not. The two can not be both true. If you are a Christian you will believe in the Bible and there is no such thing as Reincarnation in the bible, it even contradict the idea of Reincarnation. Eternal life is very different to Reincarnation.

It's two believes that are contradicting. You can't say: "Your religion is wrong - mine is right!"

As monti_84 says, you can't dismiss a believe and then argue with the bible, which still is a believe based on faith and not on facts. You can't prove which one is right.

You argue using science, but remember that science and Christianity also contradict each other - does that mean that factual science is also wrong from your point of view? If so, then you're being extremely naive. Nothing is more true than science, since it's proven right with evidence.

>>Nothing is more true than science, since it's proven right with evidence.

Can science explain all the things happening in the earth?

Is there anything that science can't explain? [b]

The Bible is scientific.. i trust the word of God

Like in Isaiah 40:22 the bible already proclaimed the earth is round even before man discover it.

People in the 15th century feared sailing because they thought they would fall over the edge of the flat earth. Yet the Bible revealed the truth more than 1,000 years before man discovered it for himself.

It took a long time for science to discover what was recorded in the Bible more than 2,500 years ago. Copernicus invented the first globe in 1475 to demonstrate that the earth is a sphere. Galileo constructed the first astronomical telescope which he used to study the sky. Columbus believed the sphericity of the earth with his voyage to North America in 1492. Finally, Magellan and his men sailed around the earth and thus proved it to be spherical in shape. This major event did not occur until the 15th century.

The fact of a spherical earth was clearly proclaimed in the Bible by the prophet Isaiah nearly twenty eight centuries ago. In chapter 40 verse 22 of the book of Isaiah we read: [b]

“It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.”

When Isaiah wrote this verse he used the Hebrew word “khug” to describe the shape of the earth. Although this word is commonly translated into the English word “circle,” the literal meaning of this word is “a sphere.” It is also used in

Proverbs 8:27

“When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

The word “khug” is here translated “compass” referring to surface of the ocean taking on a spherical shape.

The earth is also said to be spherical in other Bible verses like

Job 26:10, and Amos 9:6:

“He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.” [b]

“It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.”

[b]

The Bible has shown itself to be scientifically accurate in another observation cited by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration:

According to Mr. Elmor Escosia, Chief of a Planetarium Unit here Manila, during the early period, the proof that the earth is round is during the observation of a lunar eclipse, because during a lunar eclipse, you will find the one covering the moon is a round object and that round object is the earth.

As Mr. Escosia said, the earth’s shadow always takes a circular bite out of the moon during a lunar eclipse, which would only be possible with a spherical earth.

This scientific principle is just one of the evidences that demonstrate the Bible’s historical accuracy… a discovery that proves how authentic the Bible is.

“Behold, the former things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” (Isaiah 42:9). Even before Christopher Columbus discovered that the earth is round, it was already mentioned in the Bible (Isaiah 40:22). Essentially speaking, the Bible is scientifically true. One of the best evidences of God’s existence is the miraculous ways that the Words of God are coming to reality in details.

That is Uncorrect.

Copernicus was not the first to claim that the Earth wasn't flat. Furthermore, he wasn't the first to claim that the solar-system was heliocentric either. In fact, these contentions were claimed long before the birth of Christ, by the old Greek philosophs.

One of the first to claim that the Earth is a sphere was the old well-known Greek Pythagoras, who lived 582-507 BC.

Then we got the arrival of learning, and then - yes, Copernikus was the first to claim the Earth as a Sphere to the Western countries - still, the Greeks had known this for many thousand years already.

Also, Columbus wasn't the first to travel the Earth by ship. The Vikings were the first people to discover North America, and this has been proven scientifically. Still, Columbus was the first to announce that the Earth in deed wasn't flat - but the Vikings had still known these a long time before Colombus.

You say: "Essentially speaking, the Bible is scientifically true. One of the best evidences of God’s existence is the miraculous ways that the Words of God are coming to reality in details."

Still, the bible (the old or new testament) still contradicts the science. Let's take Charles Darwin as an example. The "survival of the fittest" has been proven several times in reality, and that the animals (including us) will evolve through time. It is proven that the human species evolved from an ancestor that was probably arboreal - but the bible does not mention anything about this.

Now I haven't read the Old Testament, and it seems like you almost know it by heart (kudos to that). It is in deed interesting though to read what the Old Testament describes, as you say. I didn't know that the Old Testament said anything about the world is round. That is captivating.

Now I'm getting curious (might be my lack of knowledge about The Old testament (I do know what it says about Noah and that) ), but is it possible to say when the "words of God" was written?

Good regards

>>Still, the bible (the old or new testament) still contradicts the science.

ans:

Contradicting Himself is impossible with God because He can not deny Himself.

(2 Timothy 2:13) If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

God — the real God — is a God of principles that teaches us, also, to stand by the good principles He teaches the faithful.

(Romans 14:22) Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

He is not a God that tells us something is colored red, and after us beholding that it is red tells us that it is blue;

God is not the author of confusion, but is a God of order and truth.

(1 Corinthians 14:40) Let all things be done decently and in order.

To believe in the theory of evolution is to believe in accidents, for the theory of evolution can only be explained by accidents that allegedly happened in nature, and perhaps in the brains and minds of evolutionists!

The Bible is the only book on earth that tells us things that will happen before they happen, many centuries ahead.

(Isaiah 42:9) “Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

And the intention of the Almighty God in putting these informations in the Bible is for us to believe that the Bible came from Him.

(John 13:19) “Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.”

God’s word and wisdom written in the Bible are straightforward declaration of the absolute truth. There is no contradiction whatsoever. God guarantees it; but it will appear to be clear and concise only to an understanding mind of someone favored by the grace of the Holy Spirit.

(Proverbs 8:8-9) All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

(2 Peter 1:20-21) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

There are absolute truths in the Bible that work out to be the guiding principle in understanding the written word of God. They are our guide to discern the absolute truth about everything that exists, and within the capacity of our awareness. Of course, our awareness is limited compared to God’s. The absolute truth is: God is a God of truth!

(Psalms 31:5) Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Being the God of truth, He is faithful.

It follows that He can not lie.

(Titus 1:2) In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began…

Emphatically, it is impossible for Him to lie!

(Hebrews 6:18) That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us…
