If you have watched any of Rurouni Kenshin this is a must see! This is the sequel to the original series as Kaoru narrates most of the series through her own eyes. The anime is done differently as the design is changed like the previous movie and also added a few love scenes to it. I have to admit watching the summary of his climb to being the best was nice and it had the missing The Jinchū arc that was only in the manga.
It starts from the beginning 11 years after the meiji government’s rise to power showing Kaoru suspecting the wanderer of being the Battosai (man slayer). The character design is beautiful and begins showing fighting scenes like when Jin'e kidnapped Kaoru and caused kenshin to fight. Then the begin appearing over my head when kiss scenes were added to the story….(maybe that’s how Kaoru saw it). Further down a new depressed kenshin arises as he begins suffering from a disease said to be close to leprosy and goes on a journey leaving his wife and son behind. Before he leaves Kaoru ask him to spread the disease through intercourse so she can suffer his pain also (way 2 dedicated ). Overall this movie is filled with heart aching moments and a lot of sadness and a beautiful ending for the Samurai X series. A must burn movie.
