have you set exceptions for BitComet in your Windows firewall?

or please make sure you checked options-> connections-> port mapping:Enable NAT/Firewall configuration in ICS/ICF(Xp/vista only)

Am also having the yellow light showing, wat to do please?

If you have sucessfully setup your router for portforwarding, and still have a yellow light, then there is only two things possible. Either you have setup the router improperly (bypass router if possible to see if that fixes the problem, if so, you need to find your error), or you have firewall or security software blocking the incoming connections.

Some of the programs I've seen cause this are Nvidia Network Manager and firewall that come bundled with their video cards and motherboards. If you use them, then uninstalling them will fix the problem. Their Video cards work well, but the other applications are horrible.

im not running the windows firewall the enable NAT/firewall config is checked. the only one not checked is the enable UPnp port mapping. when i did the firewall setup to let in the port i got the setup instructions from p2p said to leave the UPnp unchecked.

disabling uPnP is an option you can do if its not working for you, which is very common, and the opinion of many users is that diagnosing the reasons why uPnP doesn't work is much more complicated then simply forwarding your port. uPnP is nice when it works, but unfortunately it usually does not.

i thought we had a router but my husband says we have a modem so thats y the port forwarding didnt work. do u have ne suggestions on what we should do. the only thing we have is local no remote connections.

The_UnUsual_Suspect Wed Jul 1, 09 05:17 PM

If this device is ONLY a modem, then it will have only one port (ethernet most likely, but some also have other types of ports, usually usb, but only one of each). If there are more then one ethernet ports, then you device is also a router.

For port trigerring and forwarding:

If your modem is linksys IP nbr must begin 192.168.1.64 (or something like) not 192.1681.1.1 as most modems. Did take care of this ? And you must check the box at the end of line.

If the member doesn't have a router, then portforwarding/triggering doesn't apply to them.

is there ne way to bypass the modem

The_UnUsual_Suspect Thu Jul 2, 09 08:35 PM

No, your modem provides your internet connection, but if its not a router, then its not the problem.

routers can usually be bypassed unless the modem and router are one combined product.
