After restarting windows, and starting manually BC, when detecting for wan the system crashes with BSOD indicating the error IRQL_LESS_THAN_EQUAL for less than a second and then restart the system.

I have Windows XP pro SP 3and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4200+ and 2 Gb ram DDR2 a router Netgear correctly configured and portforwarded (2 days ago All was working), I have disabled automatic update of Windows choosing to ask before install.

I hope to have written all the useful info for you to help me fixing this, I also tried to reinstall the program.

P.S.

I try launch BC without any other program running, but the result was the same.

Please someone help me!

memory,check it.

Thank you for providing the info about your system.

Besides checking your memory, can you please tell us when this problem occurred? Was it after updating your bitcomet version, or updating your windows?

Perhaps installing new hardware or software?

If this problem just suddenly begun with no changes at all, then hardware failure is a distinct possibility, even if it only seems to happen with bitcomet.

If it happened after updating bitcomet, then please uninstall after backing up all active tasks, and noting your preferrences, then delete your install folder.

Running a registry cleaner might be a good idea too, then reinstall bitcomet, make sure to download it direct from bitcomet.com (repeat download to make sure you original download wasn't corrupt).

After reinstalling, report if problem persists.

If your unsure if recent hardware/software was installed, or want to do further testing, go to...

Start>Run

type in "msconfig" and press enter

When the utility opens, look at your "startup" list, and disable everything you don't run EVERY time windows starts (disabling won't mean you cannot run the program, it only means it won't start automatically). This procedure will speed up your computers startup, and free up system resources, making your system faster, and often more reliable.

If this resolves the problem, then you may not need to look any further, but there is a slight chance the problem could reoccur if BitComet and the conflicting program are run at the same time.

I thank both of you, in effect it will be memory hardware failure, but my computer is new and every other program runs fairly...

like I said before I unchecked for windows automatic update preferring to see what MS want to update! the first version downloaded is BC 1.13, 'cause I'm a New entry in the world of BC...

previously I used e-mule or uTorrent of even flashget and the plugin for Firefox DownThemAll

In effect the first two days with BC were really fast (after configuring my router to open the door, signing in, starting my blog etc...), Then I deleted a "fake" iso from a torrent (having a little difficult to delete, I had to restart in safemode to do it) then after restarting BC started this error, So now I save all the contents in my BC folder then uninstall it and redo from start. I hope this will reset all the errors and we can cooperate again. I let you updated.

I checked my memory with a program,

I tried uninstal then reinstall, no change!

I tried to stop my firewall progs, the error ever occurs.

Now my hopes last in you, my friends...

If someone has new hints, let me know.

For now I return using uTorrent and other progs, instead of one BC for all...

Stop squeezing your brain I found a process conflict with BC: My Firewall Nvidia installed with my lan driver.

Stopped firewall, cleaned manually register, reinstalled BC, No need port forwarding (my router accept the new port), All working, I'm resuming my old downloads.

Thank for all and I hope My experience is useful to others.

Yes, we are aware of the Nvidia Firewall and Network Address Manager both cause conflict with all P2P programs. Nvidia makes good graphics hardware, but the free products they bundle with them are horrible.

Glad we were able to help

Well... It worked for a day...

I had the nvidia FW down, windows firewall setted, Netgear service&rule always consent...

I've returned to utorrent hoping for the next version I also haven't the crash dump of windows, 'cause I stopped the savedump task earlier...

Maybe I can try another once and then post the dump here, maybe someone will see a solution...

What do you think?

Try completely uninstalling the Nvidia firewall and NAM (network address manager), and see if that solves your problem.

If that doesn't, another possible cause is your uPnP (universal plug n play) function of your router may not be working properly. Since you said your router opened the port automatically, that indicates uPnP was working, but I've seen uPnP work perfectly one day, and not at all the next, and diagnosing why its not working is much harder then simply forwarding your port, making a permanent rule that doesn't reply on uPnP.

I'll try, then if the error occurs again then i'll send you a dump of the status that caused it.

( some developers will find it interesting to fix evental bugs).

But not today... I'm not ever on line, I've my personal social life, I have friends and other thigs most important than a prog that won't running...

Let me spend my weekend out in the hot summer air, instead of a hot sweaty room in front of a computer.

I'll notify you ASAP. Bye
