strange (low)upload rate

Ya, very strange

Note: Both problems occurred in different situation so I added the date to distinguish

Date June-29-09 (problem while seeding)

I’m using the bitcomet since its 1.07 version. Recently I updated my pc to XP SP3 and at the same time I was able to portforward my port. After I tested the bitcomet latest version 1.13.download rate was considerably increased but after I finished my download when it come for upload, my upload rate never go beyond 43KB/s irrespective of the task, number of uploading task, health of the torrent or surfing in the internet, nothing affects it (LT seeding is off as per your suggestion in my topic http://www.tocomet.com/post/98032/). Occasionally it reaches 45-49KB/s for 2or3 second. Currently I’m not downloading anything I just want to upload. Before portforwarding and upgrading from XP2, I was able to upload at an average of 60-70KB/s.

Date July-03-09 (problem with uploading while downloading)

And recently I’m facing a new problem I’m downloading a file which has 15seeds/53leaches(connected) but, it is downloading at 50KB/s uploading at 2>19KB/s!! I checked the settings it’s nothing to do with it (LT seed is on)

My system

Windows XP3

Firewall- not blocked

RAM 2GB

Bitcomet 1.13

In both cases I restarted the application and restarted the download but nothing paid of.

speed

The_UnUsual_Suspect Fri Jul 3, 09 02:51 PM

This is very odd, because your speedtest says your max upload is 0.36mb/s or 360kb/s which in Bytes is 48kB/s, very close to the max your reporting of 43kB/s, which shows me that is as fast as your internet connection will go.

This tells me that the problem isn't your computer, nor bitcomet, its your internet provider. I would find out what speeds they advertise, and if your not getting what you paid for, contact them and complain until you do.

If however this is as fast as you can get, then you will get better performance if you limit your max upload just a bit so it doesn't use all of your upload. 80% of your tested max upload speed is about what you want to use, so you can reserve the remaining 20% for communications with peers.

ya,

what about the second one i reported is it also because of internet provider?

i checked out their advertisement they say we are able to get 256kb/s to 2mb/s(both upload and download).in that case it's my max upload rate but how come i was able to upload at an average of 70KB/s before a month or two?

Bandwidth

(wherever technically feasible)

256 Kbps/

Upto 2Mbps

this is how they wrote about it

The_UnUsual_Suspect Sat Jul 4, 09 07:48 PM

They adverstise in "bits" not "Bytes", so 256kb/s = 32kB/s, and 2mb/s(2048kb/s = 256kB/s

Why you were able to upload faster before is something you'd have to ask your ISP. Like most, they are giving you much more download as compared to upload. Some offer services with higher upload speed, which is a good investment if your going to be using torrents alot.

ok, i think you are right. but I'm sure about one thing, they were monitoring my bandwidth usage or use a kind a software or some thing. because of my decreased upload rate. even i can't talk about it with local adminstrators they know nothing about the internet or computer. they just by heart the procedure to install the modem. do you know the most funniest thing they say

"you should turn off the (any)firewall that's the key to your problems(when my modem screw-up for some reason),instead you must use antivirus and internet explorer only"

i just wanted to ask another thing.recently i gone through my firewall exception i came across a exception called WesSseed_ul is it some thing dealing with the bitcomet. the program name is web seed broadcaster i don't remember i downloaded some thing like that should i delete it or not?

is there any forum or some thing like that were people can suggest some thing to developer or put a future request just like Google chrome or Mozilla firefox has?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hi, puttachinku, If you have some suggestions to BitComet, please post directly in this forum and the member of the development team will view your suggestion and feedback to you. Actually, the team read and understand English. Or you can send me a email anytime you like: sophia@bitcomet.com

I asked our team and WesSseed_ul is not BitComet file. but do not know whether you can delete it or not

The_UnUsual_Suspect Sun Jul 5, 09 08:33 PM

Some of the lesser reputable ISPs will give you a faster speed, until you actually use it, then they will cut you back. Some call it a "fair use" policy, and claim its to serve the good of all users to show down those who use it the most. What it really is, is a load of crap, because if they advertise you can have 8mbit, then when you can only get 6mbit for a week or two, then get cut back to 2mbit, that is just horrible service.

My ISP tells me what I get, and I get that speed 24/7, with no restrictions at all.

I'm not sure what your webseed broadcaster is, I suggest you do a google search on it.

As far as requesting features, if you know Chinese, you can post in bitcomets chinese forum. You can also suggest it here, they do have a English rep. that monitors this forum now, but to speak directly to the developers, you will need to do so in Chinese.
