I am rather new to this game & was wondering if I can have some help..

I downloaded the "BitComet" for torrents & they are downloading etc.. perfectly. When I go to burn the movie on nero it can't. Than I decided to get a avi converter & for each movie that I donwloaded, it says that the file is "cracked" or not complete. I couldn't burm. I tried to watch the movies om Media Player & I only get sound...

I deleted the old converter & got ride of my dowlads. I downloaded fror mininova. All my files were dvd rips from FXG & they were avi.

I am currently re dowloading a movie...

I was wondering if I need a specific program to convert from avi to a dvd compatible file. Also an avi converter to convert from avi to a WMV file to watch on puter..

I now downloaded DVDFAB 6 & it burns copies but can I use a torrent file & burn a copy from using DVDFAB.

So plzz direct me as to what programs I need to properly burn my torrents.

There is no reason you can't watch the Avi video on your computer, you just have to have the right codecs installed.

I recommend you install the K-Lite codec pack (full)

Also, redownloading the files is a complete waste of time, If on a rare occasion a file is corrupt, you can do a "manual hash check" and then redownload only the corrupt piece/s.

Regarding converting Avi files. There is a reason most torrents are released in Avi. These are videos encoded with Xvid codecs (an open-source version of DivX).

These videos are designed to play on any Divx-certified DVD player, or on any computer, so someone has gone through a lot of work to make these videos so universal, and your wanting to do an equal amount of work to convert them to something else.

If you do want to convert them to DVD, then Nerovision will do the job quite nicely, but it would be much better to simply buy a divx dvd player. I recommend "Philips" brand, that you can buy for $35 and up on amazon.com, or any other major internet retailer.

I have to agree with The_UnUsual_Suspect (why convert if you don't have to?????)..........spend the $35 or so for a DivX DVD player, you will save in the long run on discs as you will get 6 to 7 movies per disc depending on the size of file of course!!

You are not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on!!
