Appreciate some clearer explaination on System & Artificial Binding from the GM as this affects the personal equipments of each and every player.
...
According to the announcement, "System-bound equipment can’t be unbound, traded, boothed, auctioned, mailed and sold to NPC, but they can be abandoned and lost when owners die."
.
What are the equipment that are bound by the system? Who decides what equipment should be System Bound? This is very important as each piece of equipment that we have are obtained, especially the good ones, with much effort and that is why they are so dear to each player. However, according to the announcement description, this equipment can be pronounced "dead" once it is bound by the system as the player cannot do anything with it anymore, he/she can't pass it to friends, to his/her alts.....he/she loss control of the equipment.....or to put it more seriously, you lose control of your own property.
.
If there is an analogy, it is like saying in order to prevent theft to your property in your house, the government will put a special seal on your property in your house where no one can do anything to it, not even yourself. You can't give/lend it to your good friend, can't sell it even if you are dead broke, can't throw it away even it outlived it's useful life and the only way to get rid of property is to demolish the house. Does this make sense?
.
Shouldn't the way to prevent theft is to find ways to better secure the house so that it is difficult for thief to break in and not by gluing everything you have in the house to the floor ???
.
If I had misunderstood the announcement, please correct me. But this can be a very sensitive subject as it deals with "Virtual Property".
.........
As regards artificial binding, further details need to be given, Initial impression is if some thief can break into an account, he/she can use a "Binding Release Stone" to unbound it. Well if it takes a week to unbound then it is a hindrance for theft but a headache for the owner.
