i'm running vista i don't get any emule kad servers showing, my downloads are so slow they take days to complete and i'm not downloading obscure stuff, with no peers. some items have 1000+ connecting but nothing actually connects all settings support unlimeted download and upload speeds, etc... also bitcomet keeps on crashing on a regular basis. and downloads only seem to make any progress while i sleep. as far as i'm aware i don't have any viruses i just reinstalled windows vista a few days ago. i also can't seem to forward my ports even though my shaw secure (f-secure) options have been all, owing them. i even let my computer to act as an internet server for bit comet and emule to no avail. my uploads often outweigh my downloads on speed. and i signed up. whayt the hell is wrong. when i used to run bit comet in the past on another computer running xp everything was fine. that was a few months ago have things changed now so that this is a normal occurrence, i am running other torrent programs now instead but i like bit comet and if this doesnt get fixed soon i guess i'll have to uninstall bit comet and go with u torrent and fsm free download manager

Hi,

This sounds like a setting issue, but there are a few reasons why we aren't going to be able to help you yet, so I will list them.

1. This is no longer our support forum, you should register and post your support request at cometforums.com

2. You didn't provide the necessary information for us to diagnose the problem. We are volunteers who donate our time, and we don't have the time to reply with a list of requirements for requesting support on everyones post, so we made a "pinned" topic in this forum, and in our support forum which clearly lists minimum amount of data needed to diagnose your problem.

I can however tell you that you don't "forward your ports" in a firewall, its done in a router, if you use one. If you don't have a green light on your WAN (listening port), then one or more of the following is blocking incoming connection attempts, router, firewall, or security program.

I can also tell you that since your upload is higher then your download, and the fact that you set it to unlimited, that your most likely maxing out your upload bandwidth, which bogs down any connection attempts you make, so a good analogy would be that your placing phone calls, then taking too long to respond when the other party answers, so after waiting for your reply, and getting none, they simply hang up.

If you review our settings guides, they will teach you how to test your line speed, and find an upload limit that allows you to upload as much as your able, while reserving enough bandwidth so you can reply to peers in a timely manner.

Please read the rules before you reply. Additionally, I will add that our support forum's email verification doesn't always work, but I have been manually approving new members, and in the meantime, I will try to help you here.
