Who does maintenance on a Friday night?

I was in the middle of trying to nail a task and co-ordinate my two bases when all of sudden the interface is frozen. I hit F5 and get a System Maintenance message. I look at the clock and it 6pm on a Friday night.
Wouldn't it make sense to do system maintenance at like 4 am Wednesday night or something like that?
Just wondering.
