I realized today while upgrading my system for borderlands (Fricking fantastic 3d cell shaded FPS RPG btw if you haven't checked it out yet... DO SO NOW! 9.5 / 10 So good you should buy it) that I tend to only pay for games with no piracy protection... Now don't assume this means I pirate games out to the net (only because 90% of the time the torrents are up a week before I can get a new release heheh) on the contrary, I feel software companies that don't feel the need to bog down the installs and systems of players with hefty burn-proofing (*cough cough* SPORE) should be greatly rewarded for spitting in the face of the Maxis type thinkers out there. I bought the game falling completely for the hype but more because the thought of seeing evolution played out in a user friendly environment that I could then show to my neice and nephew (5 & 8 both fairly adept gamers) excited me! On install when that starfarce protection BS ran and the digital requesting for install permission... well that about ended my enjoyment right there. The game went back in the box, and taken back to Meijers, which you may know does not have a return policy for software, but with enough bitching and threatening of bodily harm they eventually saw things my way and let me trade the game for Hellgate London... More on that trade later. I still wanted to show my Neice and Nephew how interesting creature based life sims could be so I did what any sensible, pissed off, broke, jaded gamer would do... I looked to the hydra to find me a work around for the protection and other BS built into the game. Boy did it deliver. I guess the point in all this ranting is, Make a game good... if it's good you'll get money... Don't assume that just because you made a game it in some way entitles you to money even if it's good and god forbid you make a shitty game thinking you deserve a pat on the back... Yeah that's directed at you John Romero... Daikatana was ass and the only thing it was ahead of was shit... Your game was like a horrid stinky fart... smells so bad that even opening a window wont make it go away and if you strain to hard to just get through it? Well you end up having to change and burn your shorts. My big message to the industry? Fuck with your gamers and they will see to it that you learn a hard lesson in word of mouth and punishment by sales.

To all my seeders out there, keep up the good work. To my rip artists, may your content be entertaining and your descriptions acurate. Long live the hydra.
