All that time she’s spent hanging around in Woody Allen movies seems to have had an effect on Scarlett Johansson. She’s caught something from Woody. No it’s not a venereal disease (at least as far as we know), she has a bad case of the directing bug.
Page Six claims that Scarlett will make the transition from being pretty in front of the camera to being pretty behind the camera when she makes her directorial debut later this year helming a film called New York, I Love You. Apparently she’s also caught Woody’s obsession with New York City. Unless of course, the title is referring to the state of New York in general. Maybe it’s really a love letter to Buffalo? The Sabres are pretty good.
Scarlett won’t direct the entire thing by herself though. The project is basically the New York version of Paris, je t'aime, which was released and watched by no one last year. Like Paris, Je t’aime, New York, je t’aime will use multiple directors telling different love stories set in the city. Scarlett will be one of a dozen directors confirmed so far including Zach Braff, Anthony Minghella, Mira Nair, and yes, Woody Allen.
It’s times like this when I start to think I should just give in, be a sheep, do what everyone else does and move to New York. It’s not like anyone’s making Dallas, I Love You. I guess there’s nothing romantic about the bar side booths at Applebees.
