PESTERA URSILOR (BEAR'S CAVE)
On 17th September, after an explosion in the marrble quarry of Chiscãu, in the rock it's formed a hole throughout the miner Curta Traian from the village descended as the first visitor. Soon after the scientical researchements, a part of the cave was arranged and electrified, then at 14 July 1980, was opened to visitors.
Access: On the National Road 76 (DN-76) Oradea-Deva, derivation at km 86, in Sudrigiu, on the Local Road 763 (DJ-763), 16 km asphalt road. GPS coordinates = N 46.55460; E 22.56960.

The Bear's Cave is not special size, but in the fantastic agglomeration of speological formations, in this kind, no doubt it's unique among the visited caves. Inside are a lot of bones of the fossilis cave's Bear, Ursus Spelaeus, extinct over 15000 years ago.
The main entrance (482m alt.) is a building, with waiting hall, a bar and a handicraft shop. It's a total lenght of 1500 m, out of this 700 m is the lower gallery which is a scientific reservation.
The upper floor is arranged with sidewalk, banisters, electricity on 847m lenght having three other galleries, in order of visiting: The Bears Gallery, The Emil Racovita Gallery and The Candle's Gallery.
The Mastodon, The Candles, The Dwarfs, The House, The Lake with Nenuphars, and Pagoda, are just a few of the arhitectural gems, created by nature in the depth of the cave. The exit is through a fantastic gallery adorned with candles, the last hall is symbolical named The Old's Council.
All visit is aprox. 45 min., in organized groups with guides. Temparature in cave: +10°C (constant). Humidity: 97%(invariably). Open for visitors all year long, daily from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m., Monday closed.
