UniBitComet!
The patch we've been waiting for!
Finally - a fix for the long requested problem with the incompatible trackers.
"V00d00m4n" is the name of the Russian person that has developed a patch, which will fix the wrong announce-wire.
As you've probably read in earlier blog-entries, BitComet is incompatible with many trackers - that is now history with voodooman's patch!
- When the developers won’t, then the users must.
Basically, what this patch does is to overwrite the "official" BitComet.exe file with the modified BitComet.exe file. They are identical, with that little exception that the "hybrid-announce" (Which will switch between two different user-agents: 1st announce: Browser user-agent Mozilla 4.0/.... 2nd announce: BitTorrent 3.4.2.) has been disabled.
This makes that outcome, which BitComet will now report as it's supposed to - and be compatible with all trackers that haven't banned the actual client.

I have tested it personally, and can confirm that it works like a charm. I've analyzed the announce-wires using WireShark, and BitComet announces perfectly - both when sending a STOPPED-announce and when announcing normally. Also, the patch is completely free from spy- and malware.
Of course, this isn't an official patch - but when the developers wont (or are extremely slow to) fix the problems, then it's absolutely great that other users fix it for us!
But note, as soon as the developers fix it officially, then of course you shouldn't use this patch. Keep an eye on this blog for updates. If the developers as much as touches the core regarding the user-agent, I'll make an announcement.
Thank you once again, Voodooman!
