The Flower of Life is a curiously universal emblem, appearing in religious contexts all over the globe.
The oldest example can still be seen at the Temple of Osiris at Abydos (one of many geometric arrangements of circles found there). It can also be seen in early Phoenecian, Assyrian, Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern, and later medieval art. The example at the Osireion, with its multiplicity of vesica pisces shapes, may represent the 'eyes' of Osiris- a symbol of the omniscience of the god.
In modern times, the Flower of Life symbol has not been thoroughly studied and has been researched by very few people. The FOL symbol has a vast number of hidden potentials available within it.
From the models within it, the Flower of Life symbol has the ability to demonstrate how all things come from one source and are intimately and permanently woven together. When this is experienced, it has a profound effect on an individual. But first, one must learn to open one of the windows of the Flower of Life and peer inside.
If you were told that, "All things come from one source," you might just agree. However, there may be a part of you that is inclined to say, "How?" Until you can see how it all fits together, you may need stages of understanding to help you see and digest the whole. Using these templates or sifting screens will help unlock each branch of knowledge within the FOL symbol and expose a wider vista of latent potentials woven within you and within all things.
To open a window into the realm of the Flower of Life symbol, we need a starting point. The Cascading Circular Template is one of the most commonly used templates. It is the basis for additional templates that take the seeker even deeper into the esoteric meaning of the Flower of Life. The Cascading Circular Template can be created by the use of a compass with an attached pencil. Use the same size diameter for all of the circles. Begin by using your compass and drawing one circle with approximately a two-inch diameter. See figure below
Once you have drawn the first circle, mark a dot at any point on the circle. Center your compass on that point and draw another complete circle. See figure below
The proportion created by these intersecting two circles is called a Vesica Pisces. This is one of the simplest sacred geometry forms. It has been depicted around the world at sacred sites, most notably at the Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England.
Find a point at which the second circle crossed over the first circle and place your compass there to create a third circle. (It doesn't matter if you choose the upper or lower point). In our case we will use the upper crossing point. See figure below
Create the fourth circle in the same manner as the previous circles at the newest crossing point. See figure below
Continue on by creating the fifth, sixth and finally the seventh circle. See figures below
They say the first seven patterns od FOL represent the Seven Days of Creation.
Upon completing the 7th circle, you will be at the Seed of Life stage or the Genesis Pattern. This stage creates a tube torus. See figure below
The Seed of Life is a stage before the shape known as the Flower of life which produces the "Fruit of Life". The Fruit of life is the blueprint of the universe; it contains every atom, molecular structure, life form and eventually everything in existence. Therefore, all things existing can be built from the shape of the seed of life.
Seed of life in all major religions
In the 13th Century, a Cabalist's group from France succeeded, through geometric interpretation, to divide the entire Hebrew alphabet in its correct order using the Seed of Life. The resulting alphabet was in fact remarkably similar to that of the Religious sage Rashi who wrote his commentaries on the Old Testament at that time in France.
The Seed of Life is used in all religions and can be seen in many original sites e.g. Synagogues, churches, Kabbalah prayer books, and of course, the ancient Osirian temple in Abydos Egypt, the source of all the major religions and mystical studies.
Flower of life creation
After the creation of the Seed of Life the same vortex's motion was continued, creating the next structure known as the Egg of Life (diagram 8). In three dimensional forms it looks like diagram 4. This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music.
The Egg of Life Stage
To continue on to the next stage in the development of the Flower of Life symbol called the "Egg of Life," place your compass point upon the outer crossing points of the circles and draw the same size circle at each of the six places. See figure below
After drawing these 6 new circles, you can erase the previous 6 circles. This would expose a template that is necessary to view a collection of spheres labeled the Egg of Life. See figure below
The Egg of Life is significant because this portion of the template allows us to see the embryonic stages of life.
It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). Thus this same structure as it is further developed, creates the human body and all of the energy systems including the ones used to create the Merkaba. If we continue creating more and more spheres we will end up with the structure shown in diagram 8a. This structure is called the Flower of Life.
Fruit of life inside the flower of life
The flower of life holds a secret symbol created by drawing 13 circles out of the Flower of Life as shown in diagram 8b. By doing this, one can discover the most important and sacred pattern in the universe. This is the source of all that exists; it's called the Fruit of Life. It contains 13 informational systems. Each one explains another aspect of reality. Thus these systems are able to give us access to everything ranging from the human body to the galaxies. In the first system, for example, it's possible to create any molecular structure and any living cellular structure that exists in the universe. In short every living creature.
Platonic solids
By connecting all the middle points of the 13 circles to each other, one gets the pattern shown in diagram 8c. This is known as the Metatron Cube. Inside it are five three- dimensional shapes known as the Platonic Solids. These five shapes and all their combinations create all the possible structures in the universe, such as the embryonic cell division existing in every living creature.
This is only the first informational system within the "Fruit of Life", which is derived from the Flower of Life. The Ancient Egyptians used to hide this way of producing the "Fruit of Life" from the "Flower of Life" by drawing the "Flower of Life" without some of its outer circles and drawing two circles around the inner circles. This is similar to the inner and outer membranes of the ovum surrounding the embryonic cells.
Tree of life - the most sacred geometry symbol
| The Tree of Life is one of the most familiar of the Sacred Geometry Symbols. The structure of the Tree of Life is connected to the sacred teachings of the Jewish Kabbalah but can be seen 3,000 years earlier in Egypt. It is possible to see the Tree of Life structure in many places around the conscious universe. The structure is represented in nature and relates to the Flower of Life. |
The Tree of Life and Seed of Life are products of the same likeness; it is simply the centers of the circles of the FLO and the Seed of Life (See diagram 3).
Tree of Life and the struggle between light and darkness
To help us understand the importance of the Tree of Life, a story can be told that characterizes the struggle between light and darkness:
On the light side the archangel Michael and on the dark side Satan, who abandoned the creator to create a different reality of his own (if you reverse the name SATAN in the Hebrew language you will get the word natash which means-abandoned in Hebrew). Satan (also known as LUCIFER which means THE BRIGHT AND SHINING ONE since he was the most magnificent and brilliant angle ever created), was aware of all the secrets of the creation and the Flower of Life. The first thing he did was to take the construction of the Egg of Life and spin it into a different point of view or perception instead of the star tetrahedron point of view, which can be derived from this shape (check out our explanation about the Flower of Life). This procedure changed our perception of reality. Satan repeated the process of creation out of the great void but instead of copying the actions of the creator, he changed the process of creation out of the great void. Instead of repeating God's creation and creating the seed of life structure, and creating one sphere at a time in a vortex motion, he divided spirit into two; creating two centers (See diagram 2-2C). In this way there are two centers instead of one.
LIGHT and DARKNESS
There is no vortex motion of creating one sphere at a time; instead there is only a duplication process just like cell division only without a certain order or shape. Unlike GOD'S creation which can be seen in the embryo cell division, which provides perfect shapes during the cellular mitosis through the different stages of development. This is the difference between LIGHT and DARKNESS. Light is order, the cosmic laws of creation, while darkness is chaos and death.
Illusion reality
This action created reality that is separated from that of the creator. This version of reality is an illusion. It is a reality where unity is unseen between that which exists and all that happens, thus experiencing reality as good and evil. Therefore one does not feel real love just the use of the intellect.
Tree of life vs. Tree of knowledge
In the Bible there is a description of the Tree of Knowledge (Satan's creation) and the Tree of Life (God's original reality). "The Tree of Life is in the garden and the Tree of Knowledge good and evil". If one tries to draw the Tree of Life upon Satan's dual Flower of Life he will find it impossible as there is no compatibility between them.
