Ylang-Ylang "flower of flowers"

Are you surprised my friends? I was surprised too first time when I saw a picture of this flower. Why this one is called flower of flowers and not rose for example?

Originating in the Philippines, ylang ylang means “flower of flowers” or “fragrance of all fragrances.” This fragrance is traditionally used in aromatherapy to sharpen the senses and to temper depression, fear, anger, and jealousy. For these reasons, and also because of its reputation as an aphrodisiac, the flowers are spread on the beds of the newly married in Indonesia.

Ylang-Ylang blooms when very young. Its flowers are carried in mass clusters at the end of its elegant drooping branches

Each flower is a beautiful five-point star which begins as white, then green, then turning a rich, golden yellow as the blossoms mature. Trees can be 30-40 feet tall

Modern aromatherapists find the scent strongly sedating, easily sending the most reluctant sleeper off to dreamland. Science, on the other hand, regards ylang ylang essential oil more as a mental stimulant. Can it be both? Quite possibly it stimulates people’ s minds in one way while relaxing them in another.

Ylang ylang is also widely used as a cosmetic when mixed with coconut oil. People throughout the tropics use it to protect their hair from salt water damage. Today, as one of the most abundant and least expensive of the true floral-smelling essential oils, it is a favorite in perfumes and cosmetics and is even added to some beverages and desserts.

Scent of ylang ylang: The fragrance is intensely sweet, heady, floral, and slightly spicy, with a narcissus or bananalike overtone.

Therapeutic properties of ylang ylang: Antidepressant; stimulates circulation, relieves muscle spasms, lowers blood pressure, relaxes nerves

Uses for ylang ylang: Of all the essential oils, ylang ylang is one of the best at relaxing the mind and the body. Simply sniffing it can slightly lower blood pressure, although taking a bath with the oil or using it in a massage oil greatly enhances the relaxation experience. It can be helpful in cases of stress, shock, or anxiety. When used as a hair tonic, it balances oil production. Add about 6 drops to every ounce of hair conditioner.

Do you want to make your life diverse? Take a bottle of baby oil and add 20-30 drops of Ylang-Yland oil in it. Surprise your partner with a light erotic massage and you will see the effect.  Only don't add to much scent, because in this case the scent will have an opposite effect on your partner and he will start to think about work not sex.

Now something interesting:

Made famous by Coco Chanel who in 1923 said upon introducing Chanel No.5 in Paris,

"I wanted a perfume that is composed - not hints of roses or lilies of the valley. A woman's perfume - redolent, evocative of a woman. A perfume unlike any other ever made. The ideal scent for a woman."

So is Ylang-Ylang like Chanel No.5 or is Chanel No.5 perfume like the scent of this tree? Except for the alcohol and added power of its oils, the perfume smell to your nose is nearly identical to the tree. These famous blossoms are now used in many other types of perfumes as well.

My favorite parfume is Chanel N 5. I like it very much. I tried different parfumes, but my heart is devoted to this one.

Make your life fore diverse. Add in it some beautiful scent!

And here is an ad for Chanel N 5 performed by my favorite actress Nicole Kidman :

Interesting. I don't wear purfume vey often. I've got tons because people buy it me as a present and then it doesn't get worn. It's the same with make up.

I like the flower. I've never seen it before but i have heard of it because you find extracts of it in shampoo.

Make a wish on a shooting star.
