Yellow Light and NAT Router Configuration

When I open Bitcomet and I start downloading a yellow light appears on the bottom right of the screen wit what looks like an IP address.

If I scroll over it a message appears - "Your listen port is blocked. Please check your Firewall and NAT Router Configuration"

I have checked my Firewall configuration and everything appears normal. However, as I try to go into the Router it doesn't let me. I have only recently installed Windows Vista and I'm guessing its a problem with that because I used to be able to get into my router using the standard process (MSDos, ipconfig to find out ip address).

On internet explorer, when I enter the ip address it tells me that internet explorer cannot show me this webpage.

I know this is a problem with my computer but it is directy related to my problem with Bitcomet. I was hoping someone could help my out.

In order to fill you in with extra details I am using Windows Vista, Bitcomet 0.99, my router details are Comtrend 536+ and I am using ADSL 1Mb speed.

Thank you for you help

YOur router's manual will tell you the IP address for its control interface. You will need to access that in order to configure it. This is required. If you are certain that you cannot access it under Vista but can under XP, then I strongly suggest you revert to XP. (I don't believe this at all, and feel certain that something else entirely is wrong.)

If your router does not respond at that address, try resetting it to the factory default. Your manual will tell you how to do this. You need to read the manual carefully and completely. All of your answers will be there.

When IE cannot access a page, it always provides a reason. If you don't know this and don't understand the reason, then I really do suggest you take your system to a competent technician and have him configure it for you.

if you are sure that there is nothing else than your modem/router that blocks your ports then go to portforward.com, select your device or something very similar to it and follow the tutorial.

a life without an end.. a feast without dessert.
