hello i have bitcomet 1.01 now. i have used bitcomet successfully for the past year and no problems. i have windows vista. and i have cable/dsl internet wireless connection. the problem that i am having is new to me i never experienced it before. when i download a torrent via internet it opens in bitcomet and i start download. it shows there is a torrent being downloaded in the left drop down section but in the task area there is nothing. i cant get anything to appear in the task area where it is saying my files are downloading. when i look up the files where bitcomet saves them the tasks are there but i still cant see progress name of torrent any info about the torrent inside bitcomet task area (main section in the middle of the screen taking up the majority of the screen. i have uninstalled bitcomet and run several registry cleaners and tried installing previous stable versions that i had prior from your website. version .99 and .70 both installed fine but i still encountered the same problem once i started bitcomet no information would show. please help me because i enjoy using bitcomet when it works and i would hate to switch to a different program. thank you in advance.

If you look carefully at your screenshot, you'll notice that you have not selected anything off of the left tree to view.

Also, please note that the download location (by default) in BitComet v. 0.70 is C:\\Program Files\BitComet\Downloads , while in version 0.96 it is C:\\Downloads (if I'm not mistaken)...

i understand what both of you are saying. kluelos i see what you are saying about nothing being selected but even when it is selected nothing shows up all i did was just bring up bitcomet to take a screenshot to better explain my problem. cassie i have tried multiple versions of bitcomet and they have worked previously. just recently when i went to reinstall i have been having this problem. i switched to utorrent because i was not satisfied with bitcomet and the listening port issue but i fixed that. now when i went to switch back to bitcomet i am having this problem. i know about the file locations. and i have even tried manually starting the file torrent and it starts i am just never able to see the file or the progress or anything about it. thank you both for your responses i hope that someone will be able to assist me further.

Non of us use that thing because it's always being updated. In the newer versions it auto updates all the time. So even though you can edit in folders and sites you want it will just get erased. So we just use our browsers.

It's well to remember that 0.71 was a complete code rewrite. No release since 0.70 has been quite as stable. It seems a shame to go through thirty releases without ever getting to a stable one, but you need to be careful about any upgrade and prepared to revert back if it turns out not to work right on your system. Stirring the release of Vista into this mix didn't help any.
