Monaronadona virus looks like a lighter version of XP antivirus, which evolved into a very dangerous rogue software.
Still, monaronadona is very annoying. It can disable Task Manager, mess up with programs, redirect web seraches, and change the header of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
By being so annoying, it gets the users into searching the web for available cure. And voila! The Web offers something called Unigray Antivirus, yet another scam antivirus.
There seems to be link between Unigray and other scam software called "Registry Cleaner 2008". Both are malware-bundled and don't do what they claim to.
Monaronadona is relatively easy to remove manually, and a bunch of antispyware products facilitate the task of virus removal.
It is interesting that programmers of Monaronadona turned up to some SEO volunteers who were able to move the website of fake cure to the top of Google and Yahoo! search engines. They used blogging, posting on forums and promotions via Social Networks and Bookmarking websites, Digg being one of them.
Luckily, Search Engines caught up with the scam extortion and now the rogueware advertisers seem to have been pulled off the search results.
