Generally, when BitComet first runs in your computer with Windows XP system, you will be notified to set the firewall to block or unblock BitComet, if you enable the system firewall. In this case, you should set it as “unblock”. Or else, you need to change some settings of the firewall according to this guide.

1. IF HAVING "Catogery View"

Click Start

       Control Panel

       Security Centre

       Than click on Windows Firewall

Make sure that “Don’t allow exceptions” is unselected whether the firewall is on or off.

2. IF HAVING "Classic View"

Click Start

       Control Panel

        Windows Firewall

Make sure that “Don’t allow exceptions” is unselected whether the firewall is on or off.

1

Then, click “Exceptions” tag; check all the items in “Programs and Services”; make all BitComet services and UpnP Framework selected. Don’t forget to click “OK” to save the changes.

2

This is all u need to do.And i have been downloading 24hours for long time and trust me don't worry if listen port is blocked.Because i have compared the speed if blocked or not and it doesn't help so much, simply i would say make no difference in downloading speed
