BitComet 1.02 - Options/ TCP/IP Limit

Hello,

I can't increase my Half-Open TCP Connections.

All fields in the section TCP/IP Limits are screened and have the following infirmation:

Current OS Version: Windows XP (5.1.2600)

TCPIP.SYS Version: 5.1.2600.5625

Current Half-Open Limit: This version of TCPIP.SYS is not supported to be modified.

New Half-Open Limit: 0

Is this because i use Winows XP SP3 ?!?

I'm having the exact same problem, plus my port light is either unknown or blocked, even though my DSL is saying Bit Comet is open for port forwarding.

I managed to resolve my problem replacing file TCPIP.SYS

Copy TCPIP.SYS from C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

and paste it in

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

restart BitComet

Regarding the light be sure that your listen port is "on" and the exact port is allowed from your Windows Firewall.

Success!

The Lvllord mod is over 3 years old. Most of the time that will only make things worse.

Frankly you guys are wasteing your time trying to do this.

How to change TCP/IP limit in xpsp3?

drisyakavya Wed Nov 12, 08 09:46 PM

I have trid Ivllord tool. Eventhough it was made for sp2 it worked good for forsp3 also. I have set half open limit to 600. It is the value being recomended by many users. In sp1 the limit was over 65000. When you come to sp2 they reduced it to 10.

so it seem 600 is not so high, Eventhouh some are recomended the limit should not exceed 200. With Ivllord tool you can check preset half open limit value and rechange it after evey windows update which may change the limit usually. Try Ivllord here http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads.

And another tool specially designed for sp3 users is Hwrms tool.

you can try it here http://209.85.175.104/search?q=cache:nRzRx4mBG-wJ:hwrms.com/blog/%3Fp%3D17+Hwrms&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=in

Best of luck.
