Bottom line is music is the soundtrack to our lives and we all live different movies. So therefore people need to appreciate that we have an option to choose what we listen too. The fact that there are so many different genres of "rap" "hip hop" should be celebrated not down graded.
So what if someone thinks Wayne is better than Jay. Or Soulja Boy is the man. Or Plies is the "realest". These are all just opinions and to the person stating them they truly feel that way and believe that. This is because that music speaks for them and who they are as a person.
There are a lot of artist I don't listen too because I don't like their music. They might be "lyrical" as fuck and super nice with it. Every line they say might make you say "damn" but that don't mean the song does anything for me.
If you are a young boy that goes to clubs and all you think about is fucking hoes you prolly like soulja boy. If you are a female that loves to dance you prolly like all the snap music you hear.
If you sell dope all day or around D-boys all day you prolly listen to Jeezy, Plies, and Rick Ross and shit. It speaks to you and what you are doing.
So appreciate it for what it's worth. Be glad we have thousands of artist to choose from to entertain our lifestyles and lives. Be glad that their is a genre of music that speaks for us and talks about shit we relate to.
I would rather have a thousand bull shit songs on the radio then to be without music at all.
Think about how the music takes you back. It is more vivid than a diary. You can throw on a song you haven't heard in years and it will take you to a place you have been before. It allows you to relive your good times and helps you get through the bad times.
I would rather lose a limb then to be in a world with no music.
