Hi

I am new here so please forgive me if I sound dumb!

I have successfully downloaded a file - first hurdle passed! It ends in .XviD. If I open it through the BitComet window I can play it in both RealPlayer and Windows Media Player. I have two questions:

1. How the hell do I save it to my desktop?! As soon as I try to do this it won't open from the desktop!

2. How do I convert this file so that I can use DivX converter to burn it to a DVD that will play in my dvd player (not only on the PC).

Anyone out there who can put me out of my misery? Pleeeeeaaaaaassssseeee!!!!

COPY AND PASTE THE FILE ANY WHERE U WANT TO SAVE IT...MAKE SURE U HAVE THE DIVX CODEC OR PLAYER TO VIEW IT. MOST DVD AUTHORING SOFTWARE SHOULD HANDLE THE CREATION/CONVERSION TO A DVD THAT WILL PLAY ON MOST SET TOP DVD PLAYERS...THIS ADVICE MAY BE TOO SIMPLE TO HELP YOUR SITUATION ...BUT WHATEVERRR YOU KNOW MY GRABDMOTHER ALWAYS SAID TWO THINGS "IT NEVER HURTS TO TRY" AND "NEVER FORMAT A HARD DRIVE DURING A THUNDERSTORM"...TRODE

just buy a cheap dvd player that has the new divX player logo on it then you can burn just like any movie.(avi file) to a dvd disc by using nero, burn as dvd rom and the new player will play it...if you do this then you put a few films on one dvd disc like i do.plus to me this was the easier option has it save,s loads of time in having to convert films...

its just mad being mad-its just crazy being crazy-but its great just being me
