does this really work and will this mess up vista?

I mean 70,000 limit seems too much, can bitcomet handle that? If someone has installed this please write feedback on the patch

I Highly Recommend you do not apply this patch!!!

I have discussed this with my tech department, and they agree with me that altering Vista in this way with create nothing but headaches.

I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion, so if you want to experiment with vista, then go ahead, but even if you encounter no adverse effects, which I'm sure most users will, there is no need to patch your tcp-ip half open connections at all. The limit imposed by recent windows versions is related to how many connection PER SECOND, so in the time it takes to read this thread, you can have thousands of half open connections, and even more completed.

In fact, there is only one reason someone will need to open a large number of "half open" connections in one second, and that is to distribute Worm Viruses so fast that your Anti Virus can't stop it.

So basically, even if you don't cause major problems by altering your system files, your torrents aren't going to run faster, but you will be more efficient at distributing Viruses.

The TCP/IP file, Stop the flow of internet speed.

I read the book.

We need to know how this file work.

Go to book store and go in Computer Books.

Found TCP/IP Book and read.

Microsoft try to manipulating all in company hands.

NOT ME.

I manipulate my Windows.

Not Windows manipulate to Me.

Microsoft put the nomber of this file to controler.

Is clear.

THE NOMBER "50" ON WINDOWS XP AND VISTA, STOP THE INTERNET FLOW.

You have a choise.

My internet flow is to fast and save.

I use this patch in 2004 to now

and never have problems.

The limit of half open connections is the Rate at which they open, not a Limit on how many you can have open.

I will say this again, please listen...

The only reason you need to open more then 10 half open connections per second is to spread Worm Viruses

This limit is put in place for a good reason, and shouldn't be altered. Some users can be lucky enough to not have serious problems when they alter their tcpip.sys file, but do so at your own risk, and don't expect your torrents to run faster, because they won't.

What I can do, if didn't help?

The_UnUsual_Suspect Fri Aug 1, 08 01:26 AM

If you altered your system files even with all the warnings posted here, then I can only hope you know how to undo the damage you caused.

Very unwise to attempt this if your not sure about what your doing.

The driver signature and limitation of TCP/IP of Vista annoy me so much! :S

The_UnUsual_Suspect Mon Aug 4, 08 06:25 PM

There is no limit of tcpip connection in Vista.

Its the "rate" not a "limit". You can have millions of tcpip connections, and as many "half-open" connections as you need. Vista will keep opening at least 10 per second, or more as some complete. The only reason you would need more is to spread Viruses.

As for drivers signatures, they aren't even required. Its just a few that microsoft charges to certify a driver. If you trust the publisher, just ignore the warning.

Neither of your complaints are of substance...
