How does one increase BitComet Download speed
Size: Large, Medium, Small Thu Aug 7, 08 10:31 AM | Category: Release Notes

Hi!I have been using BitComet to download movies and software.Unfortunately, the download speeds are extremely slow (approximately 1-2 kbps) thus downloading resources that are 500 MB and above isn’t feasible.

How can I increase the download speed?

Hi,

Please check the WAN. I've never faced slow speeds even while downloading files of 22GB.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

You have to find the torrents with the best balance of seeds and leechers the best torrent is that have more seeders and better if have light seeds and lees leechers, and if you share your downloaded files with other, in other words you keep your download file uploadind, the system ranks you better than other users and you will get more chance for betters peers to your connection.

Sorry for my bad english I speak spanish

You can see WAN at the extreme right bottom of bitcomet. Check the light...it needs to be green for good downlaod speed.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here is a very good guide, to help with your basic settings.

Although it was designed for version 70, it will work with all.

One addition thing you should do is limit your Long Term Seeding, or disable it, as it can use up all your upload bandwidth. Make sure your Global max AND LT seeding max don't exceed 80% of your total speed confirmed by your Speed test.

The "Wan" is Wide Area Network. Basically what it means is you need to open a specific port in your router, if you use one.

BitComet has a light indicator that will be Green if your not blocked by a router or firewall. A Yellow light means your blocked, Grey means test could not be done. You can "right click" on it to force a test, but our servers must be online in order to complete the test.

You can also complete test here...
