listening port blocked

I have installed bit comet but I am getting really slow download speeds due to the listening port been blocked. I have looked to see if it is the firewall software but the directions only tell you the settings for XP. Im running Vista and was wondering what setting I need to check to increase my download speed.

if i manage to get my hands on a vista machine ill make a guide till then good luck but try [url]www.portforward.com[/url] as they have vista help also

Hi, i have a vista 32bit home, 2gb ram n 120gb drive,,so go to control panel n click windows firewall ok.then click allow program through fire wall.right if the BitComet is not on the list click add port then type your bitcomet in then the port you like to use ok,My self i have put it in twice 1 far TCP n the other far UDP,,then click apply.n ok. once you have dun this n your light is still yellow witch it probly will be until you forward your port numer,so go to era n follow the instructions on how to dothis ok at http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm so i wish you all the luck ok mate,,So if you have any problems just go to my page n i'll help as much as i can ye?if this helps please leave comment,, Laters Gary

What should I do if on this link http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm isnt model of my modem HUAWEI E-169? Thanks for your answers?
