For last few month gaming community had only one thing to talk about: “Will GTA IV appear on PC?”, and now four month after the console release of GTA IV, Rockstar* announced that it will happen.
Actually this wasn't much of a surprise,(to be honest.) but it was a huge relief to all the PC fans, including myself. All the previous GTA games arrived to PC owners few month after the console. Fact*(first two GTA games were made originally for PC)*.
As we all know PC is and always will be the ultimate gaming machine, Rockstar* knows this as well, and they did make some changes to the game.
First and the most important change is the graphics, the game will support high resolution, and provide tons of video settings. They also increased character details.
GTA IV uses the Euphoria Game Engine. They couldn’t use the entire potential of the engine on the console, but now that that the game is moving to PC, we will see better performance.
Of course better performance means higher system requirements, and that means that some PC owners will have to upgrade their systems, in order to play the game.
PC version of the game will also support custom soundtracks, and custom radio stations. Me and some of my mates would also like to see some on foot audio, like an Ipod, or an MP3 function in Nikos phone.
One of the best things about the PC versions of GTA, is that people were free to mod the game. But were not so sure after the HotCoffee scandal, moding will be that accessible.
And finally the biggest advantage of the PC version over its console sister is multiplayer. PC version will support more players online, and there are some possibilities of new multiplayer modes.
So expect Grand Theft Auto IV PC, November 21in America and few weeks later in Europe (sorry for not knowing the exact date).
