Hi Everyone,
I've been watching quite a few movies lately and one left a really strange feeling of wonder and confusion at the end of it. The movie is called "The Life Before Her Eyes". If you've seen it already you might understand what I mean. If you haven't it's difficult to explain without giving away the movie.
The story starts out with the rebellious life of a teenage girl, Diane, and how she's always getting into some sort of trouble or other. Then a fateful day comes and something terrible happens while at school. A boy she knows goes crazy and decides to gun down most of the students and teachers. Diane and her best friend get caught in the bathroom by this boy and a impossible decision has to be made, which of the 2 girls will live or die. The story goes on to see Diane grown up and leading the life she hoped for. Like everything, nothing's perfect, as she goes through day to day living the terror of that fateful day, while trying to remain sain and take care of her daughter, Emma, and husband, a college professor. She lives a life of remorse, but is it all real .....? I think I'll leave you wondering.
I really recommend this movie. It's touching, as you learn about Diane as she goes through life before and after the shooting. Watching her struggle to get through every day as she battles her feelings and the fact that her daughter is growing to become more and more like the young Diane of her past. The movie points you in one direction just to twist you in the end. I may have said too much now. I hope I have said just enough to make you curious to see this movie. If you like thrillers with just a touch of mystery, this is the film for you. Women will love this movie, men not so sure.
In one of my earlier post I mentioned that I was going to see and comment on The Lost Boys 2. Well I've seen it and to tell you the truth, I was quite disappointed. I was hoping that it would live up to the original movie. In my eyes it was lacking. Not a bad movie, but the plot just goes too fast. They made the leading lady too easy, making her so predictable. They go to this party, she meets the head vampire and goes to his room alone not knowing the guy and no questions asked. She's quickly charmed and of coarse gets tricked into becoming a vampire. Her brother then goes through the hardship of becoming one of them to try and save his sister. I think that was my favorite part of the movie. The killing spree is a bit ehhhh... The only good comment I can make is that Sutherland, like his older brother, is a very convincing vampire. He really makes the part. Only difference between he and his older brother is that Kiefer played the bad type vampire and Angus the romantic, mysterious type (my personal preference). If you haven't seen the original Lost Boys (1987) you will probably enjoy this movie more than I did.
That's it for now. I hope you liked my blog.
As usual I welcome your comments.
Enjoy your movie night,
