You know it’s a slow news day when a Dane Cook casting notice is the big story of the morning. But since I can’t find anything more interesting to report on, know that the hottest college campus sensation (does that make him the new Carrot Top?) has been cast to star in a comedy called The Bachelor No. 2 for Lionsgate.

He’s gotten so big that he now has his own production company and plans to produce the movie himself, which I guess means he’s not far off from being the new Jim Carrey instead of the new Carrot Top. That’s quite a step up.

The Hollywood Reporter says the movie has Dane playing a guy named Tank. His first name is not Frank, which is good since I don’t think Dane Cook could pull that character off. He looks too good nude. Tank is a guy who earns his living as a professional bad date. Men hire him to take their ex-girlfriends on dates from hell, in order to send the girls crawling back to their jilted ex. One problem: Tank likes sex. He likes it a lot. This gets in the way when his best friend asks him to help with his ex. Presumably she’s hot and Dane Cook really wants to see her without pants.
