might want to check to see how much ram you are letting BC use, it might be eating up your ram if you don't have much. I let BC use 1g of ram to take the stress of my hard drive but if I have a few browsers open and a game running wile installing another game in the back ground things get a little slow,,,haha 4g ftw

You can check under Options and then disk cache

There is a limit in the amount of memory Vista & XP 32Bit can actually access. It's around 3.5GG.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference if you have 4 x 1GB memory and enable dual channel. But in essence, unless you have specially developed programs such as professional animation rendering software.

I doubt BitComet comes into that category.

All 32bit Operating System can only address 3.5GB of memory max. This is due to the 32bit limitation. If you need more, use Vista 64bit (XP 64bit is very incompatible with drivers cause it's based on Win 2003 Server) So to awnser your question: Dual channel won't overcome the 3.5GB limit on 32bit OS'es. I just have 2x 1GB in Dual Channel and run Vista 32bit ... runs smoothly. Never had my PC slowing down because of BitComet.
