TCP/IP Limit
Size: Large, Medium, Small Fri Oct 3, 08 04:54 PM | Category: My Postbar

I'm running Windows Vista, along with bitcomet 1.04, have the eMule plugin, but my download speed remains around 8-9kb/s which isn't right for my connection.

The program said something about my current half-open limit causing problems. I'll be honest I don't know what I should set it to, it's currently at 10 and I reckon that's what's causing me problems with download speed.

Someone help?

Read a post by the unusual suspect, saying that 10 is the right number, now I'm flummoxed completely

Ignore the tcpip limit thing. You need to adjust your upload and donwload speed limits and make sure your port is forwarded.

With no p2p apps running to to speedtest.net and check your real download & upload speeds. Then limit your global upload speed to 85% of your max.

Example: I have a 1 megabit upload speed limit. That's only a 125 kilobytes. So in bitcomet I limited my upload to 100 kilobytes.

Sori but i don't know what u r saying about... Can u explain clearer the step on how to do it??? Thank you so much...

step-by-step of what Dark Shroud said...

1) Open BitComet. Go to the "Options" tab on the top of the BitComet window and go to preferences

2) Check if your upload and download limits are on "No Limits". If they are, continue to next step, if not then change them to "No Limit" and continue

3) Go to www.speedtest.net (Its an online site that determines the speed of your connection)

4) When it shows you your speed, divide the download speed by 8 to find out your max download speed. Then, again, go to "Options" in BitComet and set your upload limit to 85% of your max download speed...

Hope that helps candy11 :)

Also sign up with BitComet's Passport service, helps in boosting your download speeds...

Hola Gracias

I did download that thing but to be honest it really did not do much for me. I have used both BitComet and Bit Torrent and by far in every way Bit torrent is much much faster than Bit Comet. However it feels like Bit Comet has more of a community of folks that share all kinds of goodies! But when it comes to download time as it is now I could never see going back to Comet it is just way too slow. No joke I download almost twice as fast with Bit Torrent. I have no idea why but that the way it is here on Margarita Island!
