I am now using BC 1.06. I'm using a DSL B-Band connection that has delivered speeds of 4000+Kb/s being fed from 700+ seeds. At present I'm downloading a torrent that originally had very few seeds and was slow as (about 4 to 7Kb/s) getting to 27% of 2.7GB in 30+ Hrs. Download Speeds picked up to 30-50Kb/s & Torrent obtained reached 60% quickly:- ETA was 9Hrs: and I was over the moon :) The new BC 1.06 is new to me and I like the display of info about each Peer that it gives.
I noticed that top of the list of Peers displayed in the IP column is 'Myself' & in the Progress box is 60%. Under that were a lenghty list of others that were connected & what %age they were supplying. In the 'Status' column is the display of each Peer's -what is it?-lets say feed, a little blue vertical strip in each status meter box. They were all at 1%. Now they have gone, all that is there is 'Myself' and listed under that is this...[+]...bt_disconnect(161)
What's happened there BUT more to the point, Did speed increase because I'm...um..Feeding off of
Myself??
Have I created some sort of " Phase locked Do-Loop " going in circles, using up my BB allocation space that is NOT getting the Download any closer to completion??? I cant check to see if any of the 59 files of the torrent has finished loading, because they're just that, unfinished.
I would have thought that in-built Hashchecking measures would make this impossible. (??)
I could be wrong of course. Not having a full savvy of the torrent machinations.
Your opinion and advice will be well appreciated.I might be Skaarj1 but I don't wanna eat myself if I can get a good feed elsewhere.
Thanks
