Listen port unknown? Please help :(

Can someone please help me understand this experience.

BitComet 1.07, Windows Vista home premium service pack 1, Dell inspiron I 1720, Intel core 2 duo, 3.00gb, 32 bit, Wireless. Billion ADSL2 + Router, model BIPAC 7402 VGP, as far as I know I do have port forward, I just don't understand why I have port unknown, when I have had it open b4.

PS.... I don't understand the tags bit either, only new to all this, but have had some wonderful D/L experiences b4 this

You will need to log onto your router

it will be an IP adress, like 192.168.0.1 or similar

You will then need to get the port Bitcomet is trying from use (from tools, options)

Then add this port number into the router settings

If you have trouble.. try going to google and type in your router name and bitcoment.

Try this site

http://portforward.com/guides.htm

If you are using a router you will need to log onto it and make sure the port is open.

This is true - it works 9/10. I get the occasional grey button, but after exiting BitComet and restarting, it goes green.

I never bothered to bugger about with port settings - it works just fine - sheer luck???

The problem was there quiet often, but got a lot less after having signed in for the BitComet Passport - again, a coincidence - who knows?

Please note : If you are trying to run Limewire and bitcomet at the same time it can cause the listen port to be "unknown" for bitcomet

I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.
